Aikaterini Karadima is an Architect Engineer and a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Crete. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Historic Urban Environments from the Bartlett School of Architecture – University College London (UCL), which she completed with distinction. Her research focuses on the spatial transformations of the 20th century as outcomes of complex social, political, and economic factors, as well as on the management of architectural and urban heritage. She has actively participated in exhibitions, research projects, and international conferences as a speaker, contributing meaningfully to the discourse on architectural heritage and urban development. In 2024, she was awarded the Student Prize for Post-1900 History Paper at the 16th International Conference on Urban History (EAUH), held in Ostrava, Czech Republic (September 4–7, 2024), for her paper "Chania's Urban Metamorphosis: Exploring the Consequences of the 1923 Population Exchange", which highlighted the spatial and social impact of refugee settlement in Chania.
