Nektarios Kefalogiannis is an Architect-Engineer with research interests in theory, architectural design and urban planning. He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens and continued his studies in postgraduate programs in Greece and Spain (including programs at UPC and the School of Architecture in Barcelona – ETSAB). He completed his doctoral studies in Barcelona (ETSAB).
Throughout his academic career, he has served as an appointed lecturer (in Chania and Patras) and as an assistant professor (in Chania), teaching courses in theory, urban design and architectural design. Additionally, he teaches the course “Design Thinking” in the English-language master’s program “Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship” at the Hellenic Open University. He has previously taught in the undergraduate “Tourism Management” program at the Hellenic Open University, delivering the course “Culture and Tourism: Management and Promotion” and in the postgraduate “Environmental Design of Cities and Buildings” program, where he supervised master’s theses.
In the research field, he has collaborated with the Intelligent Coast research center (Barcelona) and the CERCLE research team (ETSAB/UPC), focusing on the study of the impacts of mass society on urban design—with an emphasis on coastal areas—and on architecture. He has participated in architectural competitions and contributed to building design with various architectural teams. His writings have been published in scholarly volumes and journals, and he regularly participates in conferences and workshops related to his research interests.
