In the two first semesters, the teaching of the course focuses on drawing.
Students through a series of exercises – projects, are required to explore the natural world and observe the particular way that each surface receives and reflects light, and try to represent it, through the juxtaposition of light and shade. With the line, the tone, the form, students must designate on their painting surface the space, and yield the volume, the texture and the sense of light.
The course is based on laboratory work and the presence and participation of students is compulsory.
The assessment is made at the end of each semester by the presentation of all exercises that are carried out by each student.
