This course deals with planning an area on a city or town scale. Its aim is to integrate the infrastructure and formulate the regulations that are necessary for the city’s function, based on its future development. The course deals with the definition and the allocation of the parameters that shape the urban space with the use of tools such as building regulations, land uses, traffic, etc.
The course is structured in two sections. The first section includes lectures on topics such as urban density, planning residential areas, the green urban networks in the urban area, sustainable urban mobility. In the second section, students work on a project in which they analyze the urban features of an area, evaluate its characteristics with environmental, social, economic, etc. parameters and formulate proposals for its implementation.
