The studio is essentially the students' first contact with earthen architecture. It aims to involve students with constructions with earthen materials and the possibilities these techniques can provide to contemporary constructions. The goal is to connect the theoretical knowledge of the earth as a building material with the practical application. The students research existing ways of building with earth as a basic material and the morphological and architectural manifestations of each system in different geographical and cultural environments. The basic design and implementation parameters of different raw earth building systems are defined. The theoretical and practical research aims to create constructions on a one-to-one scale so that students can get involved with the construction and gain an intuitive relationship with the soil, an element essential to understanding building with the earth.
