Short biographical note

Alexandros Vazakas is an architect, (NTUA) and Associate professor in the School of Architecture, Technical University of Crete.  He holds a post graduate title from Berlage Institute, Rotterdam and a Phd from the National Technical University of Athens. 
His work has been exhibited and published both nationally and internationally. He has been awarded in National Architecture competitions. His publications concern collective and parametric design, and design education.  He has participated and conducted research concerning sustainable tourism, restoration and rehabilitation of natural and man made environment and public space within historic and non historic urban tissues.  He is teaching architectural design, digital media and parametric design. He is the director of Digital Fabrication and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory of The school of architecture T.U.C. (https://fablab.tuc.gr).  Besides architecture, his research interests concern social housing, public space, collaborative and parametric design as well as digital fabrication and landscape design.
